Wildfires Engulf California

Wildfires have spread across California, impacting the areas surrounding Los Angeles.

The fires kickstarted in the dry bushes of a mountain range near the 2nd largest city.

The fires have now spread to many areas across northern Los Angeles, posing a risk to hundreds of thousands of Californians as well as natural habitats.

An additional 25 million people are under a fire warning as the risk of more wildfires grows.

Fire risk expanded as precipitation becomes scarce. Communities across the southwest have reported droughts or higher risk of drought.
