Why the DNC performed so poorly
So far, the Democratic National Convention performed horribly amid signs of weakness for Kamala Harris and her campaign.
The DNC repeatedly obsessed over issues which most Americans don't care too much about or aren't really important kitchen-table issues for Americans. You would expect all of these Democrats to at least prioritize key issues such as the economy, financial inequality, the border crisis, jobs pouring out of the United States, high inflation compared to four years ago, and so much more, yet many didn't even mention them at all. The only Democrat who did prioritize these issues was Vermont senator Bernie Sanders, but he has faced an unfair fight in the Democrat Party for years as donors opposed his anti-big business policies.
In fact, most Democrats made violently attacking Donald Trump the premise of their speeches. Take Malcolm Kenyatta, for example, a Pennsylvania state representative who used a book of the Heritage Foundation's Project '25 to attack Trump, warning Americans of an entire government takeover by Republicans if Trump wins. Despite this, there is very little evidence that Trump is connected to his plan, and Trump even acknowledged it as "extreme" for him. Other Democrats such as Michelle and Barack Obama repeated Democratic talking points about Donald Trump, calling him too extreme or a dictator, all of which are not even close to the truth.
Secondly, these Democrats heavily spoke about diversity, equity, and inclusion in the DNC. I do agree that we should be treating everyone equally regardless of race, ethnicity, or gender, but putting Kamala Harris over Donald Trump because she's of a different race is absurd. Democrats' extreme diversity agenda of putting African-Americans in the forefront while neglecting all others has caused many former Democrats, many even black, to leave the party, citing significant extremism and the pressure to conform to radical near black supremacy ideology. We should not be judging people for the color of their skin, but by the contents of their character. By comparing Kamala Harris and Donald Trump's characters and merit, you can quickly tell which could make a better president in your opinion than versus comparing race or gender.
Hopefully, Democrats realize the importance of not inciting division and inequality in our country, but rather peace and fairness, and this year's DNC has not come even close to accomplishing this. Democrats need to be addressing issues that affect most Americans such as the economy and the crime crisis, instead of popularizing insignificant issues.
